A SUPERB MID CENTURY MODERN MARBLE TOP CREDENZA MANUFACTURED BY JOSEPH ARONSON, INC (C. 1952), A New York CITY FURNITURE RETAILER. ARONSON WAS ALSO THE AUTHOR OF THE OFT-REPRINTED "THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF FURNITURE.” THE PIECE FEATURES FIVE DRAWERS (WITH WEIGHTY BRASS PULLS) FLANKED BY TWO PRESSURE-RELEASE SIDE DOORS. WITHIN THE DOORS ARE FIVE ADJUSTABLE SHELVES. THE TOP TWO DRAWERS ARE LINED WITH BROWN FELT AND FITTED WITH VARIOUS COMPARTMENTS FOR CUTLERY, ETC. WE BELIEVE THE WOOD TO BE BLEACHED MAHOGANY. THIS MAY OR MAY NOT BE A CUSTOM PIECE. IT IS UNMARKED, BUT A MATCHING DINING SET BEARS THE ARONSON TAG. MARBLE PIECE RESTS ON TOP AND IS REMOVABLE FOR EASIER TRANSPORT.
